I couldn’t drive my convertible to work so I had to take my other car.
Why couldn’t I take the Rabbit? Because on Wednesday’s stop by a local dairy farm and pick up 8-12 cases of fresh dairy products. #iwishihadawagon.
Please ignore the bird crap on my window. The car has been sitting street parked since I came home with the Rabbit last Thursday so it’s dirty all over. I stalled when I first started driving because I got used to the muuuch higher “grab” point on the rabbit’s clutch. Also the headlight sprayers on the BMW worked for the first time in the 7 months I’ve owned it.

My poor (beloved) MINI hasn’t been drivin since last Friday. Took the Jag Monday (only automatic car in my stable) since I had to drive through downtown Chicago at rush hour, and the Triumph yesterday (nice day for it).
I love having a selection of different cars — there’s things I love about each. Today I got to remember how much I love the quick lightness of the MINI.

I also like how different my cars are. They are separated by about 30 years, 1000lbs Of curb weight, 2 doors, 2 cylinders, 2 driven wheels, and a roof.

My headlight sprayers don’t work. Was hoping the guy who sold it to me just pulled the fuse (it had previously lost a cover, and it’s easy to imagine disabling them as the easiest way to make sure it didn’t happen again.) Alas, nothing so simple, but I figure I’ve got 3 or 4 months before they would be useful, so not worrying too much about it right now.

Oh man, the grab on old VWs. My Mk3 engages somewhere just above your knee- everyone who drives it stalls like five times before they figure it out.

Yeah the first time I drove it I thought it was broken, I kept slowly letting the clutch out waiting for it to grab, as I rolled back down the hill.

I want to know more about the dairy products. I love some good cheese (which looks like blocks of cheddar in that one milk crate).

As a fellow owner of multiple cars, I hate being asked “How do you choose which one to drive in the morning!?” As if this is some horrible burden or dilemma I must face every waking moment.
My go-to response has become “Do you own multiple pairs of shoes? How did you choose which ones to wear this morning?” and that seems to shut people up. (Unless the answer is no... and then I open and close my mouth a few times before awkwardly walking away.)
